Taking the time to write an effective work will not only make your website more enjoyable, but more useful, and less daunting to the viewer.
I would have to say I completely support the idea of, "Omitting needley words". First off, it doesn't make sense just to write words to watch yourself type, just as some say people "talk just to hear themselves talk". Second, the extra words on a page seriously jumble up a page. This leads into my third idea... I hate to read quite honestly. I do so, but I get tired very quickly when stationary, and I feel intemidated when looking at a lot of reading. If I am looking at a webpage of pages and pages of reading, I want to at least feel like I am going to spend my time and effort reading on something worth while.
