Our own bias can always be a hindrance when discussing design and usability with others. But it's hard for us to see from another's perspective because the web is really a personal activity. We don't surf the web in groups of people around us, so we learn our own particular way of navigating, thus creating a web of completely unique users. Just like driving, we don't like anyone else telling us how to navigate from the backseat, because of course our way of doing it is the best. Unfortunately this bias can cloud our judgement of how things "should" work: the easiest possible way for anyone.
